Successful Inbound Marketing and your Homepage
For the majority of websites, the homepage is the most heavily visited page on the site. Although many of your inbound and direct marketing efforts will drive visitors to various landing pages, it is inevitable that many visitors will end up at your homepage at some point in time. In order to maximize the results of your inbound marketing efforts, it is extremely important that your homepage is optimized for performance. As a general rule, we suggest you answer the following questions from the perspective of a site visitor to guide you in designing your homepage:
- What do you do?
- How will it help me?
- I'm not sold yet, where do I go to learn more?
- I'm interested in your product/service, where do I go next?
If you can clearly relay the answers to these four questions on your homepage, you are off to a great start. To provide you with some additional guidance, we have included this handy infographic from our friends at Hubspot. It outlines 12 key areas to focus on when building or modifying your homepage.
